As we begin 2020 we have a ported vision for the coming year—and decade Here are some of the initiatives that The Lend A Hand Project has accomplished and is looking forward to
We wish to thank all those who donated to our holiday “Uninvitation” initiative. Thanks to your generosity The Lend A Hand Project was able to provide gift cards to ensure each of our eecipients enjoyed a happier holiday season.
Once again, The Lend A Hand Project participated in Champions for Charity, sponsored by Americana and Wheatley Plaza Shopping Centers, from December 5-7.
To all those who shopped and dined on our behalf we thank you for helping us to fulfill our unique mission.
Through the extraordinary efforts and generosity of the Buckley Country Day School in Roslyn, Dix Hills Jewish Center, Old Navy in Commack, South Huntington Jewish Center, Temple Beth Torah in Melville Temple Isaiah in Stony Brook, and the charitable service sorority Zeta Phi Beta, we were able to make a truly memorable holiday for each of our Recipient children. We are particularly proud of the participation of so many children in collecting and donating these gifts.
This “giving season” was especially gratifying. We are very proud that 100% of our sponsors generously supported their recipients – specifically for the holidays.
SAVE THE DATE—MAY 3, 2020
Our Annual Spring Event will once again be held at Cold Spring Country Club from 4-7 PM. The guest of honor will be Mr. Stuart M. Mordfin who is the managing partner of Mordfin CPA Group. The theme of the event is “Real Life Superheroes”—a theme that epitomizes Mr. Mordfin and all of our supporters.
The Lend A Hand Project would like to acknowledge the exemplary work that Case Worker Ellen Acosta has accomplished over the past rive and a half years Working in partnership with Executive Director Andrew Levy, Ellen is the liaison our Sponsors and Recipients and is often the Recipient, main source of comfort and connection to the community. As one recipient described her, ‘she is our wingless angel who found a way to fit us in when we felt so left out” Thank you, Ellen, for your tireless patience and commitment.
